FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative's 7th Annual Meeting

FarmFirst is ‘Focused on the Future’, at our 2019 Annual Meeting.  All members are welcome and encouraged to attend this year’s Producer Discovery Workshop series, taking place on Friday afternoon, February 22, 2019 at the Stoney Creek Hotel & Convention Center in Onalaska, Wis.

The first workshop will showcase educational opportunities that will inspire dairy farmers to consider new soil management practices to better protect area watersheds and improve soil health.  The second workshop will provide members an opportunity to learn more about how their milk checkoff dollars are working hard for them.

This year’s Producer Discovery Workshops feature:
1:15 p.m. Sustainable Practices that Improve the Soil, Protect Watersheds and Increase Your Profits
Joe Bragger, Dairy Farmer & First UW-Discovery Farm Participant

Protecting our natural resources is a top priority for dairy farmers, in addition to improving soil quality and management practices. Joe Bragger, a dairy farmer from Buffalo County, Wisconsin, will share his personal lessons learned after participating in the UW Discovery Farms program and research studies, and how those lessons have improved his farm and his management practices as he focuses on the future.

2:45 p.m. Milk Mooo-ves: How Dairy Checkoff is Making the Most of Your Checkoff Dollars
Chad Vincent, CEO, Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin
Molly Pelzer, Midwest Dairy Association

Milk checkoff organizations have been around for decades, helping promote and protect dairy’s image among consumers.  Gone are the days of focusing on print and television advertisings. Learn what creative strategies are being implemented by checkoff organizations today as they focus in on building markets and promoting the love of dairy products to social media influenced consumers, while showing the world your passion as dairy farmers.

Be sure to take advantage of these great educational opportunities! There is no cost to attend the workshops; however, to ensure seating space, please contact us at 608-286-1909 to reserve your spot.
