Seventeen students will receive a total of $18,000 in scholarships from FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative this year. 2023 marks the eleventh year the cooperative has been providing scholarships, for a grand total of 241 recipients totaling $226,000.
“FarmFirst has always believed in the importance of investing in and supporting the education of the future generation. Education is vital for our next generation in developing the leadership and essential skills necessary for their success,” says Jeff Lyon, General Manager of FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative. “FarmFirst is proud to continue to provide this resource to our members and their families.”

This year’s scholarship recipients are: Abigail Ballweg of Dane, Wis.; Delaney Becker of Auburndale Wis.; Rachel Boehlke of Thorp, Wis.; Magen Busker of Ridott, Ill.; Camron Cafferty of Elroy, Wis.; Grace Clark of Rosendale, Wis.; Wyatt Davis of Darlington, Wis.; Trinity Gruenenfelder of Blanchardville, Wis.; Sadie Heath of Tony, Wis.; Jake Hoefler of New Vienna, Iowa; Grace Leis of Cashton, Wis.; Brianna Meyer of Chilton, Wis.; Brooke Rudolph of Medford, Wis.; Brady Strassburg of Marion, Wis.; Brice Thiel of Auburndale, Wis.; Katelyn Welgraven of Ruthton, Minn.; and Connor Weltzien of Arcadia, Wis.
Scholarship recipients were selected based on leadership activities, scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities, essay responses and their future plans and career goals. All members of FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative and their children attending four-year universities, two-year technical programs or short courses and high school seniors planning for postsecondary education were eligible to apply for the scholarships
