Highlights from FarmFirst's Exclusive Federal Order Webinar
FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative provided its members a virtual presentation by the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) on Thursday, August 11 regarding the latest developments on Federal Milk Marketing Order modernization.
In early 2022, NMPF created a Federal Order Task Force, which FarmFirst General Manager Jeff Lyon serves on, to evaluate and study several federal order issues. During the one-hour zoom presentation, Peter Vitaliano, NMPF Vice President of Economic Policy and Market Research, provided insight on the latest taskforce discussions, which included make allowances, the Class I mover, milk composition, and dairy products/product specifications (price discovery, block/barrel spread) among other considerations.
