Nineteen students received the 2022 FarmFirst Scholarship
“FarmFirst has always held a strong belief that its important to invest in and support the education of the future generation. Through education, our next generation will bring innovative ideas and skills for the betterment of their communities and their chosen profession,” says Jeff Lyon, General Manager of FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative.
“Preparing today’s students for tomorrow’s success begins with investing in their future. Our scholarship program is exactly that – an investment in the youth of the cooperative. I am proud of the students and also the commitment of members and board leaders throughout the years, as this support proves to be invaluable to the students the program serves,” says John Rettler, dairy farmer from Neosho, Wis. and President of FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative.
This year’s scholarship recipients include: Kacy Anderson of Mindoro, Wis.; Alane Artac of Greenwood, Wis.; Emma Bangart of Stratford, Wis.; Brittany Bauer of Marshfield, Wis.; Emily Bittelman of Westfield, Wis.; Tyler Bohnert of East Moline, Ill.; Brady Dehnke of Augusta, Wis.; Delana Erbsen of Lanark, Ill.; Breann Flannery of Argyle, Wis.; Grace Kling of Taylor, Wis.; Jacob Knigge of Omro, Wis.; Lora Korth of New London, Wis.; Kelsie Kreklau of Stetsonville, Wis.; Brooke Lebal of Kennan, Wis.; Mary Lewandowski of Hatley, Wis.; Jacob Matyka of Rib Lake, Wis.; Ian Riehle of Edgar, Wis.; Calli Storms of Muscoda, Wis.; and Ezekiel Wagner of Seymour, Wis.
Scholarship recipients were selected based on leadership activities, scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities, essay responses and their future plans and career goals. All members of FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative and their children attending four-year universities, two-year technical programs or short courses and high school seniors planning for postsecondary education were eligible to apply for the scholarships.
